or What Would Donald Trump Do?

I tried background movie acting; (I was a briefly visible ‘extra’ in ‘Jumanji, Welcome to the jungle’

‘Love Simon’ (Where’s Waldo? Can you find me in the grand finale of ‘Love Simon’?)

‘The Front Runner (on stage with ‘Gary Hart’ (Hugh Jackman)

and episodes of ‘Star’, in a ‘crazy cage’ as only a shadow! (Shot a 4:00AM in an authentic insane asylum now shut down in Atlanta, with flood lights to make it look like 10AM.)

and in ‘24 Legacy’ as a commuter on a New York bridge about to be blown up!. But the movie that best explains a basic concept I quickly latched on to was ‘Logan Lucky’. We ‘extras’ are just one tiny piece of a massive number of moving parts.

All those names that float by at the end are involved in making a movie from Producers, Directors, Assistant Directors, grips, transportation, catering, set builders and literally over a hundred more positions many of even I am not aware. But what I was immediately, (well after being on set once or twice maybe), aware of was that my job as a background acting extra was to go with the flow, follow directions and put my ego (yeah, we all wanna be ‘stars’) in my back pocket and be a nice little cog in this 21-jewel watch being constructed before my eyes.

The making of ‘Logan Lucky’ was a good example. An extra will take home about 150 bucks for a grueling 14 hours on set/location in the Georgia market. I was on location at Atlanta Motor Speedway for four 10 to18-hour days while they furiously attempted to make that movie.

Each day I drove 40 minutes each way and on minimal sleep returned. I was one of a handful of extras to get a ‘Logan Lucky’, (fictional NASCAR star of the movie’s) bright orange tee shirt and an extremely fortunate elite tiny cabal also to be bequeathed a baseball cap with the fictional NASCAR giants car number boldly emblazoned upon it! That was like the ‘golden ticket’ on set. Camera operators seek out those bright hats! I’m ready for my close-up, Mr. DeMille! :-o

They shot us entering the venue from the parking lot, going through the turnstiles, walking in the concession area, and cheering when Leann Rimes belted out "America the Beautiful"!

All that and due to some acidic remarks from Stacey Abrams about a stolen election, and President Joe Biden crowing about Atlanta being worse than Jim Crow as he ‘cleverly’ put it, “Jim Eagle!” Logan Lucky’s director scrapped all the footage and did a complete reshoot at Charlotte Motor Speedway in North Carolina! I rest assured that I made his job as easy as possible, made some friends, earned about seven hundred dollars, just a small cog tossed out of the watch’s design, sigh, not a star… ;-)

Now ask yourself, does Donald Trump think of himself as a cog, or the whole device? How much does he care about conservatives? We are reasonably sure when he ‘wins’ he blazes a conservative trail that would make Ronald Reagan proud! But herein lies the question: What would Donald Trump do if and when he loses to another conservative or is unable to run?

Thinking about this has given me a new perspective on my view of the party’s future strategy. Would he tank the party if he did not get the nomination? Would he spitefully back an Independent to ruin the most likely conservative knowing that it very well could cause the party to suffer a devastating loss for another four years?

Or do you see Donald Trump being a levelheaded conservative willing to help the leading primary winner on to the White House? What we do know is Donald John Trump hates to lose at anything! Would he do a ‘Kamala Harris’? After accusing the candidate Joe Biden of rampant racism, she did a complete 180 turnaround, and now says, “That was just politics. Joe knows I didn’t mean it.”

Do you see Donald Trump mending fences with a certain Florida governor he has trashed lately? What if no matter how unjustly, he gets convicted and incarcerated? Would he support Vivek Ramaswami (of whom has loyally supported him with great respect), or do a quick 180 and embrace Ron DeSantis convincingly enough to offload his followers in time for a victory? While all this is going on we risk the likely possibility of either Joe Biden or Gavin Newsom running/ruining things for the next four years!!

Imagine if I told you just ten years ago that the top social media apps would jointly deplatform the sitting President of the United States, secretly collude with big pharma to knowingly deceive us, overselling the viability of an experimental vaccine we now know never stopped infection or spread, virtually forcing us to take shots or be publicly shamed, thanks to heavy influence from the White House under both party’s presidents? The current president and former Speaker went so far as to demand government employees get jabbed or risk being fired!

Under the guise of emergency pandemic procedures, the liberal party gutted election security pretending that proving who you are was a bar too high for their poor black voters. Even ‘poor black voters’ were offended by that stereotype!

To this day some states are mass mailing (to out-of-date voter lists containing deceased and those that moved away and have now registered at another address,) ballots that could be filled out by an eight-year-old and sent back as no signature verification or ID is even required! Let’s not confuse ‘mail-in’ ballots, where someone requests a ballot. These unrequested ballots are sent to everyone with almost no assurance that it got there, or was even filled out by the addressee!

If all this was not enough of an assault on our freedom, now we have targeted federal agencies, and judges being “sic’d” on top political influencers. From a general invited in to just ‘chat’, “so he wouldn’t need to bring an attorney”, then after grueling all-day questioning was found to apparently (some of the agents believed he was intimidated into changing his story, but not involving anything to do with the accused ‘Russian collusion’) give false testimony and the resulting targeted prosecution got him arrested and went on to destroy his life savings! We all need to do our part to help turn the country around and get back to prosperity, peace (both home and abroad), regain respect, and claw back our privacy from ‘puppet big tech media’s’ collusion with the White House, and Congress. Our freedoms are leaking away and will soon be nothing but a distant memory if we don’t stop those fed agencies in their attempt at overt & ominous overreach!

In 1787 a shawl-draped woman asked Benjamin Franklin as he was exiting Independence Hall with all the other delegates of the Constitutional Convention, “what do we have, a republic or a monarchy?” Franklin wisely said, “a republic, if you can keep it.” Maybe today we should ask ourselves, W.W.B.F.D.?
