I created my FB account, I think in 2015, solely to have access to a forum which provides support from members for a streaming unit I had begun using which is rather techy. I had no intent to develop my social network. Soon, though, many friends, old and new, saw my presence and began inviting me to "friend" them. It was great to connect with them, but I remained stalwart in my intent to stay out of the "show" and never invited anyone to friend me until years later. However, the lure of responses to a limited number of my posts (I am rather jocular in nature) subconsciously led me to post more and more. It felt good. After approximately 1 & 1/2 years, I deactivated my account for 1 year as I was spending too much time, at the minimum just checking my feed, on FB. I eventually returned, but with cognizant restraint. Everything must be done in moderation. Looting, gang rape and drug use are examples of how following the crowd and going along to get along sucks people into an unhealthy abyss.
