First let’s look at the ‘Pros’. Trump came in as a gigantic question mark in 2016. We knew of him, but not much about his ability to occupy the White House. We saw him roar about wrestling and fire execs on reality TV. We saw Oprah (1988) not only interviewed him on her hit show but urge him to run for President of the United States! Rona Barrett (1980) also suggested Donald Trump should run for Prez!
‘The Donald’ was the toast of the town in years past. Even David Letterman had him on for a friendly interview. You might say, “Yeah, but that was the old Donald Trump decades ago when he was okay, not the crazy MAGAmaniac he is today!” If the videos are still around search for them and you may be shocked to discover three things. One, he had a lot more hair! Two, he was an attractive young man, and three, the things he was saying (that Oprah, Rona, and Dave seemingly agreed with), were EXACTLY what he is saying today!
How is that Possible? Mainstream Misleadia tells us he has changed into this cold, nasty, evil, racist, bigot! Your first mistake may have been not packing a generous shaker of salt when listening to those ‘dinosaurs’. Just because a ‘news’ show has someone’s name on it, it does not mean there aren’t bigwigs and billionaires pulling their strings. I promise to do a report on the topic of media manipulation, but this is about Trump.
When he came down the escalator with Melania, he was a blank slate. What we learned in the coming months was that he knew and used a common method of hypnotism, repetition, to his great advantage. He also used labels to cut down his rivals. That effectively pared down his competition from over twenty, to just two or three, saving a lot of energy for the big debates.
His ego and charisma were unmatched, and he vaulted into the White House. Here it is necessary to mention some “Cons’ for the sake of continuity. You see, Donald had never been in government at any level and suddenly he is head of the Executive branch and Commander in chief of arguably the strongest armed forces on the planet!
His first mistake and rightly so, was trusting anyone in the pit of corruption we lovingly call “the Hill'“. Since Trump had no background in politics, he had no idea the existing ‘swamp creatures’ were sharpening their knives. The ‘swamp’ is the massive number of unelected bureaucrats that only want to stay there forever and are willing to plot against ‘We the people’, our freedom, and political parties threatening their longevity.
Donald was way too slow realizing how many were in his cabinet! In some cases, he handed over jobs to ‘friends’ that were swamp creatures and had to fire them giving them himself a patina of instability. Back on the ‘Pros’ side, he had a promised agenda to accomplish and with swamp creatures stuck all over him like leeches he kept focus and pushed the needle from hard left back toward the right, honoring family, freedom, and business. Although the mainstream narrative has him a racist, he is the exact opposite. The people he appointed or supported were from wide origins and if they were loyal and could do the job, he was content.
Surprisingly his foreign policy had created a stable and relatively peaceful world. No new wars, and discussion to wind down perpetual skirmishes. As he will tell you the stock market was record setting! I anecdotally did well in the ‘Trump years’. I am by no means wealthy, but 85% of my stock choices grew handsomely in mere months. Not that I was a finance guru, but it was like shooting fish in a barrel! It was hard to pick a loser!
I think a really big strategic mistake Donald made was publicly embarrassing Nancy Pelosi. That woman had Congress by the short hairs and the LAST thing he should have done was give her added incentive to come after him. He had never played the game before and seriously underestimated her reach. It could be argued that his twin impeachments might have been avoided if he placated her even a bit.
I am not sure if he understands that should he go back for his second and final term, without full control of both the House and the Senate, he will make it almost impossible to get anything done if he creates another ‘Nancy’. He should know, he wrote the book (‘The Art of the Deal’), deal, to get things done. Put the ego on a shelf and accomplish the goals. It shouldn’t be about winning; it should be about putting America back on track. If he does that, he will create a legacy.
Bottom line: Donald J. Trump will be 78 at inauguration day and 82 his final day in the White House. He could preside over the repairing of America if he gets elected, at minimum maintains the lucidity of Joe Biden, watches out for swamp creatures, keeps his ego on a leash, and eyes on the prize.
