For the witches' stand...
What do you know about our democracy?
Bradley Simpsons phone chimed. He glances at the screen and a grin spreads across his face.
Hey Jer! What's up, brother?
Bradley's real brother, Jerry exclaims,” I'm stayin' out of trouble! What about you? I worry that you live in the crime capitol of the country!"
Oh, it's not that bad, I haven't been mugged in almost a month now, I think things are getting better! I see you finally got your phone charged?
(Jerry) I was able to get a side-hustle and score some OPG (on power grid) this week! I have 3 hours and I used 1 hour getting my phone back. I tell ya Brad, I would rather live here, outside the clutches of Megalopolis than put up with the insane micromanagement you do, bro!
(Brad) Those rules are there to protect us, Jer! The CB (Citizen's Board) has our best interest at heart. We pay a bit more, but we have a comfortable lifestyle in Megalopolis! We are all on the power grid, enjoy free public transportation, and a NWLA (No Work Living Allowance) that rocks!
(Jerry) How's that ‘no-guns’ law workin' out?
(Brad) Everyone was supposed to turn theirs in, but apparently a lot of the bad guys haven't done so yet! It'll just take some time.
(Jer) Ya know what Gran said, " If you outlaw guns, only outlaws will have guns." I guess he knew what the hell he was talking about.
(Brad) Sure miss him. Gran was one hell of a nice granddad. Jer, why don't you come stay with me, just for a few weeks. You're not an outsider, you deserve way more than OPG credits, mandatory jobs, and 77% taxes!
(Jer) Come on Bradley, we've been over this, I can't handle living in Big-Brotherville! Do they still have cameras in your bathrooms?
(Brad) Yeah, but they are only monitored by AI, so it's not as 'pervie' as you might think. You know there's no walls on that prison that you live in. All you have to do is move to Megalopolis and you'll live like a king. I got plenty of room here, Jer.
(Jer) No thanks, Brad. That's not for me.
(Brad) Stay in touch bro, I mean it!
This is the result of a pure democracy. We already know people that live in concentrated population centers have needs that are quite different from those that live in rural areas. Often ‘big city dwellers’ find ‘country folk’ and their lifestyle offensive.
So, in a true democracy, how do you think the vast majority of voters in Megalopolis will vote? They will ban the guns, limit religious display, promote promiscuity, special discounts for power, transportation, living expenses, free medicine, and a guaranteed monthly income for all city residents.
But, if you live in the rest of the country, outside the top 10 or 15 biggest cities, your puny vote totals won't stop these 'big city perks' from becoming the law of the land.
“Remember, democracy never lasts long, it soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet that did not commit suicide.” (John Adams in 1814)
Two really good articles on how our country was steered away from the dangers of a democracy are posted below:

Wait, so you are saying a democracy is bad! What are you, a communist? Funny you would say that, as that is the exact opposite of what I am. Just because we've been told all our lives that democracies are great and that we live in a democracy, does not make either true.
Democracies are not great, and we do not live in a democracy! Democracies are dangerous. On a very small scale I can give you an example. Public schools typically were dictatorships, you had a principal that was in charge, and you have students that did what they were told. The teachers were the Marshalls for the principal.
Well, back when I went to school, it was a dictatorship; I brought my pocketknife to school and it was no big deal! Kids had rifles in their gun racks in their vehicles in the school parking lot, and no one was ever shot. No one was ever arrested. No one was even worried!
Then somewhere along the way schools decided to become a democracy. Let's see how that worked out. Today, a child and even their parents can be arrested for having a weapon at school and a weapon can even be ceremonial knives from your family’s heritage, or even a plastic fake gun!
The principal only suggests what should be done. The kids protest at will, with encouragement from teachers, and in many cases in total opposition to school policy!
Today a Jewish student feels unsafe, just attending school. Students protesting for Palestine vandalize school property threaten bodily injury and block highways with almost no repercussion.
Students stand in the face of teachers, cursing them with foul language inches from their nose, begging the teacher to make body contact so they can get the teacher fired. In many cases striking the teacher and getting no punishment.
And the principals have mostly lost theirs, (principles, that is)! They will not stand up and support school policy, they stick a finger in the air checking the direction of the wind, and face that way. They fear reprisal if they offend students or their parents and even the teacher's union.
So, in this new democracy, schools are run by the inmates. How is that working out? How would life in America be if the top 15 cities' inhabitants wrote all the regulations?
How many of those Megalopolitans would make allowances for country folk when it would cost them the quality of their personal services?
This is the point where some people will say we live in a democracy and that doesn't happen! I'll answer those questions in reverse: Yes, that doesn't happen, and no, we don't live in a democracy.
So, I'm going to believe some idiot writing an article over what I've been told all my life?
Yes, if you take the red pill.
Have you ever recited the ‘Pledge of Allegiance’? Did you ever listen to what you were saying? If you're not like the kid that thinks the pledge says something about the 'witches stand', then did you ever question the line, 'And to the Republic for the witches stand.'
Okay, it actually says, 'And to the Republic for which it stands.'
What's a republic? And what's the difference between a republic and a democracy? Let's start back in 1775 with some of the most highly educated leaders looking for a solution to an oppressive monarchy…
If the people had it their way, (as it always is in a democracy), they would have made George Washington their king! Fact, George Washington actually turned down the position of ‘King of the United States’! So, if we had a democracy, the majority of the people were ready to vote themselves a king!! This is the serious flaw of a democracy.
As much as we like to think that the majority of people are smart, they are far from it! Majorities of people create mobs! A majority of people on site, allowed the beating of Rodney King, the torching innocent businesses in Kenosha, Wisconsin, taking over of land in Portland and even allowed people to be killed in the process!
Maybe there were technically more people at any of these events that objected to what transpired but, in that moment, and driven by emotion, they just strangely cooperated.
Yes, those majorities grabbed pitchforks and ran after people hoping to string them up on the highest tree! The majority of people are emotional. The majority of the people overreact and the last thing the majority of people do, is look at the big picture.
Our founding Fathers were freakishly forward thinkers! Try to say that 10 times fast! They considered a democracy, for about 10 seconds! They knew better. That's why they drew up a constitutional republic.
A constitution to give structure and a republic to give power. The Constitution had the Bill of Rights which guarantees rights that are irrevocable. This was a big 'in your face' to the monarchy! Then there are Amendments. Amendments are decidedly important declarations that can be changed but need a stiff majority to do so.
This was by design. You cannot casually overturn an Amendment but if in the course of history, one proves to be faulty it can be removed, or just changed. This prevents emotionality from driving the permanency of the law of our land. Our founders saw the need for this.
They even went a step further and through the 10th Amendment they clearly laid out just who has what power and when. They knew the Executive government would want more power, and they saw the need to clearly limit that!
The 10th Amendment states that all powers given to the federal government belong to the federal government, but those not expressly given to them fall downward to the states, local communities and the individuals, themselves. This was pure genius!
Did you wonder why the Supreme Court overturned Roe vs Wade? It's because the Supreme Court justices read and understood the 10th Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America, and they did their duty as written up by our founding fathers in our Constitution.
There is nothing written in our Constitution that gives the federal government powers to tell us when to, or not to have abortions. How did the federal government get control of that in the first place?? A miscarriage of Justice. No pun intended. Well, maybe…
Our federal government has assumed control over countless parts of our lives that they are not expressly allowed to by the Constitution.
Properly presented to the Supreme Court, many of those laws would be overturned.
One party judges our laws by perceived need for that ordinance, and the other party by its constitutional right. So, one party rules by emotion, and the other by law. In this imperfect world, both parties are also ruled by corruption fueled by desire for power and monetary gain.
Do we want a party that believes in a pure emotionally driven democracy that gives powers to the federal government that belong to each state, community, and citizen, or a party that wants to curtail the runaway federal power grab and restore our states' communities’, and personal freedoms?
Every 4 years we get a chance to decide if we want emotion or law to be our NorthStar. This is how it works in a well-planned constitutional republic. On November 5th, 2024, one of those two will become our savior or destruction. Please vote for the Republic and which it stands...

In 1950 I was 10 years old. My granddad gave me a pocket knife and showed me how to sharpen it. I carried it EVERY where. No problem. Now it is almost a sin to carry a pocket knife. What happened ? I am surprised that the supreme court has not made a ruling about pocket knives. Maybe people are to stupid to elect a president. Maybe AI should elect a president. Then AI would elect itself. Vote for the republic and for which it stands.
good stuff ...dark but good
